Get a Weekend Break in Stockholm Sweden

Do you want someplace exciting to spend your weekend?  Instead of the local beach or country fair in your backyard, give yourself a weekend holiday in Stockholm Sweden.  You'll never regret it and you'll want more of the fantastic place.  Book a cheap hotel in Stockholm and enjoy more perks to get the best from your Stockholm weekend.

Stockholm Weekend Delights

Considered to be one of the most beautiful cities in the world, Stockholm is ultimately one of the top places to visit in Sweden or in Europe for that matter.  Stockholm's vibrant culture is the key to its beauty as a destination spot and its natural splendor is also one of a kind.  Consisted of 14 different islands, it is definitely a city to behold.  Going around in Stockholm is best done on foot - to get a feel of the city's lively ambience and to breathe in the fantastic views.

On a weekend break, you can still get the best of Stockholm.  It all depends on what you want for the weekend.  If it's nature tripping, experiencing its history, sampling the varied cuisine, shopping or enjoying the nightlife, you can have your fill.  So what are you going to do get the most out of your Stockholm weekend?

Visit the Kaknas TV-Tower.  It is the tallest building or structure in northern Europe standing at 500 feet and boasts of 34 stories.  From this building and on a clear day, you get a breath-taking view of Stockholm.  The Kaknas TV Tower has a superb restaurant and a gift shop for tourists who want to do everything all at once - have a great meal, shop, and enjoy the majestic view below.

No tourist should miss the Royal Palace.  The palace dates back to the 1700s and is still a fully functioning palace with all the pomp and pageantry of old.  However, nowadays the palace also serves as a museum available for public viewing.  Touring the palace interiors is thrilling because you get a first-hand view of the ancient rooms and step on the ancient floors trod on by past kings and queens.  If you happen to be there when a new room is open to the public, you had lucky break for a weekend.

If you bring your kids along for the trip then you should definitely take them to the Grona Lund Amusement park.  This used to be a garden but has been converted into an amusement park in the late 1800s.  The park is the venue for concerts, shows, and there are roller coasters and other fun rides for everyone, young and old.  The park has an excellent restaurant and offers everything for everyone; hotdogs and burgers for children and salads and steaks for adults.

For your shopaholics, the Gallerian is the place to be.  The largest shopping center in the city, it has over 60 different shops and boutiques.  You can find everything, from the latest designer labels, antiques, fashion accessories, and stunning Italian leather craft.  Name it, they have it.

The nightlife is fantastic.  There's a bar for different night owls.  Cozy bars and jam-packed discos light up the night scene.  Don't miss the Absolut Ice Bar.  This bar is made of ice inside and out and all year round, the temperature is below zero.  Want to chill out? The Absolut Ice Bar awaits you.
