Stockholm winter

Love Stockholm in Summer, Love it Doubly Hard in Winter

This Nordic paradise offers the best of summer and winter.  It may be colder there during winter, which is an understatement, but it's the magic of its winters that lure tourists from all over world to return after experiencing Stockholm winter.

 A Nordic Winter

The Danes love their summers and winters.  Whatever the season, Stockholm is always breathtaking.  Tourists who have sampled the city's summer and winter offerings can't complain; there is always too much to see and do in Stockholm.  During winter, the landscape is a vast expanse of snow and the view is always exhilarating, whether you are in the busiest district or in the quieter suburbs.

It is extremely cold in Stockholm but the food, the sights, and the friendly locals make up for it.  The kunsgtradgarden or King's Garden, which is an open garden, is the site of the lively and colorful Christmas Market.  The night scenes have a fairytale look and Stockholm Christmas Market in Old Town is one place you should not miss.  There are lots of people, beautiful displays, great lights, and Christmas decors you can take back home.

At the park, there are chic restaurants and cafes, a foil to the snow-covered statues of ancient kings.  There are two statues there and young people also skate on the rink encircling the statue of Karl XIII.  The statue of Karl XII is encircled by four big pots.  You can pose for a souvenir picture here and have all nooks and crannies forever preserved in your camera.

On sea, a different treat awaits you.  Sign up for a winter cruise along the city's quay side and circles of the Fjaderholmarna Island.  The island is a favorite summer retreat and the view from boat is just as spectacular.

These are just a few of the things you can enjoy.  The list is extensive, so get ready!  Gear up for the cold and enjoy longer nights and very short days.  It's an experience in itself.  You will love Stockholm in winter, even better than you loved  summer in Stockholm.

Get an Apartment for a Winter Holiday

Nothing compares to the feeling that you're at home, enjoying your own fireplace, and watching the white expanse of snow from your window - in Stockholm.  There's the freedom to cook your own meals any time you feel like it or to entertain guests and the new friends you have made in the city.

There are choices for two or five bedroom apartments overlooking the city or the bay or snow-blanketed fields.  These apartments are furnished and tastefully decorated and expect a real fireplace.  You can book a holiday apartment online, just as easily as you would normally book a hotel Stockholm online.  Rates are charged for a night's or week's stay and special arrangements can be made for a month's rent.
