Stockholm City Guide

Are you currently thinking about taking a vacation some time soon, but perhaps you still haven't decided exactly where you want to go?  If so, I would highly recommend that you look into taking a trip to Stockholm, Sweden!  The reason for this is that there are so many fun things to see and do there!

 If you enjoy going to the movies, then you will want to be sure to check out The Natural History Museum.  The reason for this is that they have a top notch IMAX theatre.  Here you can watch films with a variety of settings such as at the ocean or in outer space, and the special IMAX technology works in such a way that you feel like you are actually there in the movie!  It's a really neat experience that I guarantee you don't want to miss out on! 

 If you think you might enjoy seeing old Swedish artifacts, then you will want to be sure to go and visit The National Museum of Antiques.  At this particular Stockholm museum, you can see all kinds of items ranging anywhere from ancient times all the way through to current, modern times.  You can even see items that the Vikings discovered here!  Also, going to visit this museum is a great way to really learn about the history of Sweden, if you're not already familiar with it.

 There are also many different fabulous art festivals that you can attend in Stockholm which are held all throughout the year.  Stockholm also has an opera house that is famous world wide, and if you get the opportunity to go and see a performance there, I would highly recommend it!

 Do you love to go shopping?  If so, then you will be sure to love both the Odengatan and Biblioteksgatan shopping districts!  Odengatan is the place to go if you enjoy shopping for antique treasure, and Biblioteksgatan is the place to go if you love shopping at European boutiques!  If you think you would enjoy crafts that are hand made by local Swedish artists, then be sure to check out the various shops in Gamla Stan.  This is because there are many beautiful hand made crafts to choose from there.  Also, there are many other excellent places to shop while in Stockholm.   

 Also, there are quite a few great places for dining out in Stockholm.  With so many different types of restaurants to choose from, you are sure to be able to find something to please your palette!  I would especially recommend going to one of their many waterfront cafes, so that you enjoy great food along with having a beautiful view.  Two areas in Stockholm that are popular for dining out with both the tourists and the locals are Kungsholmen Island and Sodermalm.  It is important to note that while it is pretty easy to find inexpensive beer in Stockholm, the wines here tend to be quite pricey as they are imported.    

 If you are looking for accommodation Stockholm, I would definitely suggest that you look into staying at one of the many fine Stockholm hotels there.  These hotels tend to offer excellent accommodations, and so you can be certain that your stay there will be quite relaxed and comfortable.  Also, because these hotels tend to be quite popular, it would definitely be best for you to book your hotel room before you actually leave home to begin your vacation.  That way, you can ensure that you will definitely have a room waiting for you once you arrive in Stockholm.
